How do you get wood smoke smell out of a cabin?
A wood-burning fireplace or stove is a big part of why guests book a cabin. It’s also why the couch, the curtains and the rugs smell like a campfire by February. Smoke settles into fabric and carpet, and an air freshener only covers it for a day.
The smell lives in the soft things, so that’s where we start: we clean the upholstery, drapes and carpet that hold the odor. If a fireplace backdraft or a chimney problem left soot on walls and ceilings, that’s a bigger job, covered on our smoke odor removal page.
Can upholstery be cleaned between check-out and check-in?
Usually, if the window allows for drying. Cabin furniture gets hard use: sunscreen, hot tub water, food, pets where they’re allowed. We check the fabric and care tag first and match the method to it, using low-moisture cleaning when the schedule is tight. See our prices for couches and sectionals. Give us the checkout and check-in times and we’ll tell you what fits. See upholstery cleaning.
What should I do about water damage in a cabin?
Cabins have a few common trouble spots: a hot tub leaking onto a deck that drains toward the house, a washer on an upper floor, pipes in an unheated crawlspace during a hard freeze, and roofs under big trees. Water in a log or wood-paneled cabin can wick into places you can’t see.
If it’s safe, shut off the water and send us photos. Call or text (865) 255-9692 any hour. We extract the water, dry the structure with air movers and dehumidifiers, and take moisture readings until it’s dry. More on water damage restoration.
Does the Little Pigeon River flood near Sevierville homes?
The Little Pigeon River runs through Sevierville, and like any mountain river it can rise fast after heavy rain upstream. Homes in low spots can take water into crawlspaces and lower floors. River water is Category 3: it carries soil and bacteria, so soaked carpet and pad are usually removed, and everything it touched gets cleaned and disinfected.
How should cabin carpet be cleaned?
Cabin carpet tends to see muddy hiking boots, tracked-in gravel and spilled drinks. For heavy soil we use steam cleaning (truck-mounted hot water extraction), which dries in about 1 to 3 hours. For a quick turnover, low-moisture cleaning dries in about 30 minutes to 2 hours. See carpet cleaning.
Do you work with Sevierville rental managers?
Yes. We coordinate access by lockbox, door code or a manager on site, and we can do carpet, upholstery, tile and drapes in one visit. Prices start from our pricing page and are confirmed on site. We’re a family-owned Knoxville company, licensed and insured, and if something isn’t right, we come back and make it right.
